When Danny was a child growing up in Asheville, NC, he found himself consistently being the student that asked, “Why?” He had so many questions and him found himself always looking for deeper answers. The older he’s grown, that part of him hasn’t changed. He’s a life-long learner. There is so much he wants to learn, see and do. The teachers that he had in school seemed somewhat afraid of someone like him. Rather than feeding Danny’s thirst for learning they focused on immediate and finite measures, like standardized tests. One of the reasons he became a teacher was make sure that didn’t happen to other students. Danny wants each and every student to be met where they are and guided towards becoming a life-long learner.
